Seeking a skilled Tooling Designer with a strong CNC manufacturing background to design and improve tooling, jigs, and fixtures that enhance production efficiency and precision in a high‑mix environment.
Responsibilities
Design and detail tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support machining and assembly operations
Create and revise 2D/3D models and drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Collaborate with CNC programmers and machinists to ensure manufacturability and precision
Conduct tooling evaluations and implement design improvements to reduce cycle times
Support new product launches by developing tooling layouts and documentation
Maintain tooling records and manage engineering change updates
Requirements
3+ years of experience in tooling or fixture design within a CNC or precision manufacturing environment
Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 2D and 3D design work
Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and tolerances
Working knowledge of GD&T and mechanical design principles
Effective communicator with strong problem‑solving and collaboration skills
