Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Director, Darovasertib Brand Lead to join IDEAYA’s Commercial team. As a key member of the commercial team, the Senior Director will lead the overall US brand strategy and launch execution for Darovasertib, a first‑in‑class precision oncology therapy in uveal melanoma. This individual will report to the VP Marketing and Commercial Strategy and will be responsible for shaping the strategic vision, driving cross‑functional launch readiness, and executing the integrated marketing plan to ensure successful market introduction and rapid sustained growth. The role requires a mix of strategic agility, operational excellence, and collaborative leadership, grounded in IDEAYA’s mission to bring life‑changing therapies to patients with rare and hard‑to‑treat cancers. This position is based in our South San Francisco headquarters and requires onsite presence four days per week in accordance with company policy.
Job Description What you’ll do:
Lead the overall Darovasertib brand strategy and launch execution, including positioning, messaging, and go‑to‑market planning across HCP and patient segments.
Drive commercial readiness and ensure alignment across Medical Affairs, Market Access, Sales, Corporate Communications, and IDEAYA’s partner, Servier, for consistent life‑cycle planning.
Work with digital and patient leads to ensure alignment with brand strategy across various tactics.
Translate complex clinical and scientific data into compelling, differentiated brand narratives that resonate with stakeholders.
Oversee marketing campaigns, including guiding omnichannel execution (digital, field, congress, peer‑to‑peer), content creation, and tactical planning.
Partner closely with the Sales Leadership and Field Teams to translate brand strategy into actionable field tactics, tools, and messaging that drive execution excellence and customer engagement.
Develop and deliver field training materials and launch resources that ensure alignment, consistency, and confidence across all customer‑facing teams.
Collaborate with field insights and analytics to identify market opportunities, feedback trends, and competitive intelligence to continuously refine brand tactics.
Serve as the strategic bridge between marketing and sales, ensuring real‑time communication, alignment, and shared accountability for launch and post‑launch success.
Manage budget, agencies, and vendors to ensure high‑quality, efficient execution and fiscal discipline.
Lead a small team at the beginning, with an opportunity to grow with the product lifecycle.
Continuously monitor brand performance and market dynamics, leveraging insights to optimize strategy and execution.
Lead, mentor, and empower cross‑functional teams, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing culture.
Represent the commercial voice in senior leadership discussions and contribute strategic input to pipeline and life‑cycle planning.
Travel: ~20%.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Life Sciences. MBA or advanced degree in Life Sciences preferred.
10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech commercial experience, including significant oncology brand leadership.
Proven success launching a first‑in‑class or specialty oncology product in the US.
Deep understanding of oncology market dynamics, HCP engagement, and patient‑centric marketing.
Demonstrated ability to translate scientific data into clear strategic positioning and communication.
Experience leading cross‑functional launch teams, delivering in a matrix environment, and managing agency partnerships.
Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience in rare disease or ophthalmic oncology strongly preferred.
Familiarity with digital marketing, omnichannel engagement, and data‑driven decision making.
Global or lifecycle management experience in a Biotech.

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the office location, the candidate’s experience, duration in the industry, educational background, and performance during the interview process.
