Golf Course Attendant
Incumbents are responsible for maintaining order on the golf course, and enforcing and interpreting golf rules and regulations. Reporting structure: Receives direction from the Head Golf Pro or higher level supervisory and management staff. Typical class essential duties include: informing golfers of rules and regulations pertaining to the golf course; enforcing the rules of the game; inspecting golf equipment and/or examining participants in order to ensure compliance with event and safety regulations; providing timely updates and communications regarding pace of play, status of tee times, course conditions, and other pertinent information to the Golf Pro Shop; maintaining accurate tee times, customer records, and pace of play records using a computerized tee sheet program; settling claims of infractions or complaints by participants; and if necessary, removing golfers from the course for violations of course rules, golf etiquette, or safety; monitoring golf course conditions to ensure they are conducive to satisfactory golf play and non-hazardous to players; representing the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor; and performing other duties of a similar nature or level. Knowledge of customer service principles, golf play, rules, and golfing etiquette, record keeping, and basic first aid is required. Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays, enforce golf and course rules and regulations firmly, tactfully, and impartially, maintain coordinated and orderly scheduling of the flow of golfers onto and around the course, analyze situations and facts quickly and objectively to determine proper course of action to be taken, explain, demonstrate, and clarify information to others, communicate and handle stressful situations in a professional and tactful manner, routinely demonstrate the City of Casper core values, follow all City safety rules and procedures and reports all accidents/incidents immediately to supervisor, facilitate visitor and customer traffic to their appropriate destination, encourage safety protocols to all visitors and customers, respond to inquiries, complaints, and requests, maintain attention to detail in a work situation with frequent interruptions, handle multiple customers at the same time, learn general layout of facility to provide assistance to visitors and customers, organize and/or prioritize to be efficient and effective with multiple tasks, operate modern office equipment, software, and operating systems/applications, maintain a neat and professional appearance, communicate effectively, follow written and verbal instructions and direction, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work is required. Skill in customer service, basic record keeping, conflict resolution, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, monitoring program participants, game time management, operation of modern office equipment, software, and operating systems/applications, operating in a courteous, knowledgeable and tactful manner with customers, staff and general public, and oral communication sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction is required. Education and experience: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred. First Aid/CPR preferred. Golf background and knowledge of golf etiquette is preferred. Six months experience in a public setting providing customer service preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age or older. Licensing and certifications: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Wyoming Driver's License is preferred.
