Internship Opportunity
Salary: $17.50/hr Performs various and diverse administrative and/or project duties depending on specific department and job assignment. This position assists with office functions such as planning, information gathering, and community engagement. This title is typically assigned to someone attending college who is interning to gain more experience and knowledge of a specific function in municipal government. Works under direct supervision and follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks. Responsibilities

Performs various and diverse administrative and/or project duties depending on specific department and job assignment. This title is typically assigned to someone attending college who is interning to gain more experience and knowledge of a specific function in municipal government. Engages in on-the-job training on operational policies and work procedures to attain the necessary talents which allow the incumbent to contribute to the work being produced by the organizational unit to which assigned. Collects information/data. Compiles and prepares reports. May prepare presentations for staff members. Attends project team meetings. May do filing, answer phone and other clerical duties in addition to administrative/project assignments. Follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks. Assists with community events and initiatives to promote economic diplomacy. Conduct research on economic strategies for global regions and sister cities trade missions. Draft talking points and support the empowerment of Atlanta-based small businesses to engage with international markets. Attend meetings to facilitate international collaboration and mission briefs. Support the elevation of the micro-business and startup ecosystem. Assist in elevating Atlanta's brand and experience to retain and attract foreign-born talent. Conduct dead zone mapping for the City of Atlanta to attract talent to the city. Volunteer and assist with planning, tabling, and set-up at community resource events and international trade events, including seasonal events. May perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience
Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline for the department in which person is an intern (Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis). This job requires mandatory in office work only. Licensures and Certifications - None required. Preferred Requirements - Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline for the department in which person is an intern (Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis). Work Environment: Required physical, lifting, and sensory capabilities are requirements to perform the job successfully. Typical environmental conditions associated with job.
