The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the company's leave programs and Health & Welfare benefits. This role serves as the primary point of contact for employees navigating FMLA, state leave, disability, and workers' compensation, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant case management. The Benefits Specialist also supports Open Enrollment, benefits eligibility processing, and employee inquiries related to medical, dental, vision, life, and disability plans. This position reports to the Benefits Manager and plays a critical operational role in delivering a seamless benefits experience. Essential Functions: Leave Administration Workers' Compensation & OSHA Support Health & Welfare Benefits Administration Open Enrollment & Communication Support Compliance & Documentation Vendor Coordination Professional Conduct Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). Two to four years of benefits administration experience, with a focus on leave management and/or Health & Welfare programs. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) (HR software experience is a plus) Working knowledge of federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125 and workers' compensation Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with a customer-service orientation Excellent time management skills Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to change Maintain confidentiality and a high level of ethics in all matters and interactions Must be a team player Physical Demands: Required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Required to possess specific vision abilities, including: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and capacity to adjust focus.
