MDI Management is currently seeking candidates for the following position:

Position Description: This is a full-time position requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible and will vary depending on the needs of each property. Shifts may include weekdays, weekends, or a combination, based on business needs and resident support requirements.

Job Summary: As an Assistant Property Manager, you will support the Property Manager and Leasing Agents in the efficient operation of our multifamily community. This role involves assisting with leasing and sales, administrative duties, resident relations, marketing, and maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the property.

Travel for Training: MDI Management is committed to professional development. Candidates may be required to travel for training sessions to enhance technical skills and stay updated on industry standards. Flexibility and willingness to travel as needed is expected.

Responsibilities:

Leasing & Operations:

Assist leasing agents with daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. Greet prospects, qualify leads, and conduct property tours while applying product knowledge. Process applications, secure deposits, and ensure smooth move-ins. Follow up with prospects and residents to maintain high leasing conversion and retention. Inspect models and available units; report maintenance or cleaning needs to Property Manager.

Administrative Duties:

Maintain accurate resident files, records, and reports using AppFolio and Microsoft Office. Assist with lease renewals, resident notices, and commission tracking. Record inspections and ensure company policies are consistently implemented. Support management in coaching leasing agents and performing additional administrative tasks.

Resident Experience & Retention:

Respond promptly and professionally to resident requests, concerns, and inquiries. Monitor maintenance service requests and confirm completion with residents. Support community cleanliness, curb appeal, and resident engagement events.

Marketing & Community Outreach:

Conduct market surveys and shop competitive communities regularly. Assist with marketing campaigns, advertising updates, and neighborhood outreach. Support resident referral programs and community events.

Essential Job Functions:

Be available to assist weekend leasing agents and respond to emergencies as needed. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Operate Microsoft Office, AppFolio, and other property management software effectively. Maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times. Work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends. Participate in training to stay compliant with new and existing laws. De-escalate and resolve resident concerns professionally.

Compliance & Legal Standards: Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal Landlord-Tenant laws. Adhere strictly to Fair Housing regulations, promoting an inclusive, respectful, and ethical leasing environment.

Schedule & Availability: Please note that schedules may vary based on property needs, resident events, and seasonal demands. Flexibility is essential to ensure proper coverage and resident support.

Safety & Compliance: Understand and follow all company, local, state, and federal safety regulations. Correct unsafe conditions promptly and report to the Property Manager as needed.

Physical Requirements: Lift up to 25 lbs occasionally. Frequent walking (30–50% of shift) and computer work (50–60% of shift). Bending, squatting, kneeling (10–20%), climbing stairs/elevated surfaces occasionally (5–10%). Outdoor exposure in various weather conditions (20–40%). Operate office equipment and minor maintenance tools safely.
