What We Seek: The University of New Mexico Foundation is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven Director of Development to support philanthropic growth for UNM Hospitals and UNM Children’s Hospital. This position plays a critical role in advancing strategic fundraising priorities, deepening donor engagement, and partnering with Hospital leadership to build a culture of philanthropy that strengthens health care for communities across New Mexico.

What We Require: The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of securing major gifts, managing a donor portfolio, and building strong, long‑term relationships. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism and initiative. Candidates should possess experience using CRM systems for donor management, maintain strong organizational skills, and hold a valid driver’s license with the ability to travel for donor meetings and events.

The minimum education and experience required:

Baccalaureate degree

At least 3 years of successful fundraising and development experience, preferably in higher education/academic health care clinical institution.

Compensation Salary Range: The expected salary for this position is $80,000 - $98,000. This range is an estimate, and the final salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, consideration of any approved geographic salary differential, and alignment with internal equity guidelines to ensure consistency across similar roles.
