Gates Hudson is seeking an
Assistant Property Manager
to support the operational, financial, and resident-facing functions of one of our multifamily communities. This role partners closely with the Property Manager to ensure policy compliance, financial accuracy, team supervision, and a high-quality resident experience.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and ready to take ownership of both administrative and operational responsibilities.
What You'll Do Operations & Team Support
Support day-to-day property operations in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
Supervise and train onsite staff as directed
Conduct move-in and move-out inspections
Ensure consistent policy implementation
Resident Relations & Retention
Address resident questions, concerns, and escalations in a timely and professional manner
Review notices to vacate and support retention efforts
Welcome prospects, conduct tours, and handle leasing paperwork as needed
Financial Administration
Assist with preparation of the annual budget and monitor expenses throughout the year
Process, approve, and submit invoices for payment
Maintain and reconcile petty cash
Track monthly variances and prepare narratives
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
Communicate with vendors regarding scheduling, billing, COIs, and performance
Ensure use of approved vendors and adherence to budget guidelines
Additional Responsibilities
Perform additional duties as assigned
Work weekends as needed
What We're Looking For Required
Two or more years of experience in property management, leasing, or related multifamily housing roles
Strong customer service and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Working knowledge of Fair Housing, ADA, FCRA, and multifamily regulations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
Experience with Yardi, Nexus, or similar property management and accounting systems
Prior supervisory or training experience
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications a plus
