A core investment team in Palo Alto is complemented by venture partners with diverse expertise in areas such as medicinal chemistry, clinical development, manufacturing, pricing and CEO level leadership.
Role Investor Relations & Marketing Associate
Position Summary Samsara Biocapital is seeking an "all-around athlete" to join the Investor Relations and Marketing team. This individual will support the Head of IR in managing and enhancing relationships with both existing and prospective Limited Partners (LPs). The successful candidate will be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, capable of running with projects independently while working cross‑functionally across investment and operations teams. This role reports to the Head of Investor Relations & Marketing.
Responsibilities Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
LP Relationship Management:
Systematically handle prospective and existing LP follow‑ups and inquiries in a methodical manner.
Marketing Content:
Assist with the preparation of marketing materials, industry/sector trend reports, and the firm’s quarterly and annual letters.
CRM & Pipeline Oversight:
Oversee all aspects of the CRM (Backstop) to manage LP contacts, track communication, and manage the opportunity pipeline.
Diligence Materials:
Coordinate the production and management of standard diligence materials and virtual data rooms for prospective LPs.
Event Support:
Assist with the content development and logistical preparation for marquee events, including the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and quarterly LPAC meetings.
Cross‑Functional Projects:
Work closely with the investment and finance/operations teams on performance and attribution analysis.
Strategic Support:
Provide input on current market trends relating to LP issues and help implement the strategic fundraising plan.
Pivotal Experience & Expertise
Professional Background:
2–5 years of experience in Investor Relations (ideally at a hedge fund or venture fund), Investment Banking, an allocator/LP role, private wealth management, private placement, or capital introductions. Other backgrounds also considered.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills are required; experience with, or understanding of, the use and applications of CRM systems is essential, with specific preference for
Backstop .
Project Management:
Demonstrated ability to be self‑sufficient and organized, managing multiple workstreams and "quarterbacking" projects from start to finish.
Communication Style:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to assist in crafting compelling narratives around biotech portfolio performance and industry trends.
Academic Excellence:
Strong academic track record; knowledge of biotech or life sciences is not required but is considered a significant bonus.

$150,000 USD to $170,000 USD
annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on experience and/or the Company’s compensation practices.
