Role Overview We are seeking a Platform Lead (10+ years of experience) to serve as the technical product architect and systems owner of the InSite platform. This cross‑functional leadership role sits at the intersection of technology architecture, energy/building domain expertise, and sales/client solutioning. The ideal candidate must think like a product architect, operate like a senior engineer, and communicate like a business leader, analogous to a senior platform leader from organizations such as Switch Automation who understands AI‑enabled building platforms at enterprise scale.
Core Responsibilities Platform Architecture & Technical Ownership
Define and own the long‑term architecture of the InSite platform.
Design scalable, modular systems capable of integrating:
Energy market data
Financial and operational datasets
AI/ML models and agent frameworks
Lead architectural decisions around:
Django‑based backend systems
Python services and model pipelines
PostgreSQL database design and optimization
API strategy and integration frameworks
Ensure performance, security, multi‑tenancy, and scalability.
Architect AI‑native platform capabilities including:
Predictive analytics
RAG‑based intelligence systems
Evaluate and integrate open‑source and proprietary AI models.
Oversee model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
Ensure data normalization across diverse building and energy systems.
Cross‑Functional Interface Leadership
This role is highly cross‑functional.
Partner with Sales to:
Translate customer use cases into platform features
Validate technical feasibility during deal cycles
Partner with Account & Client Teams to:
Ensure scalable implementation
Standardize onboarding and data ingestion
Lead and mentor the engineering team.
Establish a disciplined product development cadence tied to measurable outcomes.
Define platform roadmap in alignment with company strategy.
Prioritize high‑impact, revenue‑enabling features.
Create technical differentiation in the market.
Required Qualifications
10+ years experience in technology platform architecture
Deep experience building or leading SaaS platforms
Advanced proficiency in:
Django
Python
Experience with:
Cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP)
API‑driven architectures
Microservices or modular backend systems
Demonstrated success integrating multiple external data sources
Experience building AI‑enabled or analytics‑driven platforms
Strong understanding of enterprise‑grade security and scalability
Preferred Experience
Energy systems, CHP, microgrids, building automation systems
AI‑enabled building or energy platforms
Experience in companies similar to Switch Automation
Familiarity with energy markets and grid dynamics
Experience supporting enterprise sales cycles
