We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to oversee procurement of glass, coatings, hardware, and materials for custom production. The ideal candidate brings experience in manufacturing or construction materials purchasing and excels in vendor management, cost tracking, and cross department coordination. Location: Ellenville, NY Salary: $55,000 $65,000 annually (depending on experience) Employment Type: Full-Time Responsibilities
Create, code, and manage all purchase orders in QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy, proper tax treatment, and internal coordination. Purchase, track, and verify materials while partnering with engineering and production teams to confirm specifications and order details. Manage vendor relationships by researching new suppliers, negotiating bulk or early payment discounts, ensuring timely payments, and resolving shipment discrepancies with thorough documentation. Qualifications
35+ years of purchasing or procurement experience (manufacturing or construction preferred). Strong QuickBooks proficiency and cost tracking skills. Knowledge of taxable vs. non taxable purchasing. ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred). Ideal Candidate Traits Strong vendor management and negotiation skills. Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and production teams. High attention to detail, urgency in meeting deadlines, and accuracy in documentation.
