Position Summary
The Director of Athletics and Student Activities is a K-12 administrator. This position oversees all athletic programs and extracurricular student activities within the Wyomissing Area School District. The leadership role is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and evaluating sports teams, clubs, and student organizations to promote student engagement, physical wellness, and school spirit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Essential functions are the fundamental job duties of the position which are performed frequently and may result in serious consequences if the duty is not performed. The position exists to perform the essential function(s) of the job.)
Oversee the administration of all PIAA sports programs offered by the Wyomissing Area School District.
Implement all PIAA and Wyomissing Area School District policies.
Coordinate game management of all home athletic events.
Schedule all district facilities for all district teams.
Schedule all events for each season.
Represent Wyomissing Area School District at all Berks County League and PIAA meetings.
Serve as the liaison to the Wyomissing Area Athletic Booster Associations.
Develop transportation needs for contests and coordinate those needs with the District transportation department.
Recruit and supervise officials, scorekeepers, doorkeepers, ticket takers, timers, security and manage their payments.
Supervise and evaluate the performance of coaches and programs.
Coordinate, in partnership with the Director of Facilities, Safety and Security, the work of maintenance personnel in preparing the facilities for athletic events.
Foster good school-community relations by keeping the community aware of, and responsive to, the interscholastic/intramural athletic events.
Work with area youth sports organizations to create feeder programs.
Develop and implement an effective system for maintaining crowd control at home events.
Implement and monitor the requirements for students to participate in each sport, verify each student's eligibility and provide a list of eligible students for each contest.
Prepare and supervise the athletic department's budget.
Evaluate budgetary requests submitted by coaches and determine which will be recommended for inclusion in the budget.
Requisition program supplies and equipment, arrange for equipment reconditioning and rentals of facilities outside of the district campus.
Supervise Wyomissing Area School District Athletic Department accounts, coordinate ticket sales, approve fund-raising events of boosters and assume responsibility for proper handling of funds.
Arrange for the physical examination of all student athletes prior to the beginning of each season.
Administer the insurance program covering student athletes and assume responsibility for all processing of reports and claims and the communication of them to the business office.
Prepare periodic reports on various components of the athletic program and meet with committees and the school board of directors are needed.
Supervise the use of the District fitness room.
Collaborate with coaches, staff, and administration to gather accurate and timely athletic information for posting on athletic department social media accounts.
Create, schedule, and publish engaging digital content including graphics, photos, videos, captions, and announcements across district communication platforms.
Organize athletic banquets, assemblies, tournaments and celebrations for individual or team accolades.
Address complaints and concerns and resolve problems involving the athletic department.
Maintain positive working relationships with students, parents, outside organizations, volunteers, related associations and agencies.
Recommend, coordinate and set-up clinics, workshops and in-service programs for coaching staff personnel.
Other duties as assigned.

Work with building principals to organize extracurricular student activities.
Promote and encourage after school programs at school buildings.
Oversee and supervise extracurricular student activities.
Address complaints and concerns involving extracurricular student activities.

WORK SKILLS
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships and communications with district personnel, student body, parents/guardians, outside contacts, and the public from a variety of cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Must possess a high degree of competence in all phases of oral and written communication, computer and organizational skills, record management, multi-tasking, and analytical decision-making skills as well as handle diversified job duties, initiate projects, anticipate changes or needs, set new priorities, follow through, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision and high degree of attention to detail.
Must be proficient in the utilization of Mac and Microsoft Office software products and possess the ability to learn other computer applications.
Must possess the ability to recognize and respect confidentiality of records and information.
Must have a high degree of adaptability and flexibility, leadership and supervisory skills, a professional attitude as well as active listening and conflict mediation skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree.
School experience preferred.
Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
Qualified medical examination as per Pennsylvania law.
Valid criminal history check, child abuse clearance and Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal history investigation.
SALARY RANGE $95,000 to $115,000
