Compensation Salary range:

$90,000 - $100,000 yearly commensurate with experience

Description Director of Quality Initiatives

– Housing Works Community Healthcare provides a wide range of primary care, psychiatry, mental health, and other services to meet the diverse needs of our patient population across six health centers in Manhattan and Brooklyn. You will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of care and operational efficiency. You will lead the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, collaborate with clinical and operational teams, and partner with compliance regarding regulatory standards. This role falls under the Department of Population Health and reports to the Vice President of Health Innovation.

Responsibilities

Quality Oversight

Lead the organization’s healthcare quality program, including the healthcare quality strategic plan, facilitate monthly quality forum, stay current on HEDIS and other quality measures, advise on opportunities to enhance care delivery.

Payor Relations

Serve as a liaison with health insurance plans and value‑based care contractors to optimize quality incentive programs.

Regulatory Compliance

Collaborate with other senior leaders to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including Quality of Care, UDS, and PCMH accreditation.

Data Analysis and Reporting

Analyze primary care, psychiatry, and operational data to identify areas for improvement and generate reports and dashboards for leadership, and present key findings and opportunities for improvement.

Supervise the Data Quality Specialist and an intern providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

Collaboration with Clinical Teams

Work closely with clinical teams including nursing, primary care, operations, psychiatry, behavioral health, and case management leaders to identify and address care delivery challenges and develop quality improvement projects.

Training and Technical Assistance

Develop and deliver training programs as well as hands‑on coaching and technical assistance to a wide range of patient‑facing staff on quality improvement methodologies (e.g., PDSAs) and best practices.

Strategic Planning

Contribute to the organization’s strategic planning process by identifying quality improvement opportunities and aligning them with organizational goals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, healthcare administration or related field required.

Master’s Degree in Public Health or related healthcare experience preferred.

5+ years experience overseeing quality, projects, and/or initiatives in a healthcare setting.

Experience working in outpatient clinic, hospital, or other community health setting.

Experience in creating, running, and analyzing reports from an electronic health record, Microsoft Excel, and other databases (e.g., Azara).

Proven track record in the successful implementation of programs and development of programs for special needs populations.

Strong leadership and management skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and communicate professionally and persuasively with staff at all levels.

Ability to drive the initiatives of the organization, interact effectively with a diverse staff and be comfortable working in an interdisciplinary environment.

Proficiency with online meeting software such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Knowledge of health care system and target populations including HIV/AIDS, substance use, and LGBTQ community preferred.
