Job Title: Application Engineer Overview

The

Application Engineer

is responsible for driving sales growth within an assigned territory by supporting distribution partners and end-user customers. This role focuses on new business development, distributor relationship management, and providing technical application support for cutting tool solutions. The Application Engineer will collaborate closely with internal Inside Sales and Customer Service teams to address customer application challenges and deliver effective machining solutions. This is a field-based position requiring frequent travel to distributors and manufacturing customers. Key Responsibilities

Promote, apply, and grow cutting tool product offerings within the assigned territory Develop and expand sales through existing distributor partners via joint sales calls, product training, technical support, and application recommendations Support end-user accounts through product testing, application analysis, and technical consultation Coordinate and manage distributor activities including events, demonstrations, and training days Manage small- to mid-sized application opportunities while engaging senior technical resources when appropriate Build strong professional relationships with key customer stakeholders including purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing personnel Maintain accurate sales activity, account updates, and customer communications within the company CRM system Conduct technical presentations and training seminars to strengthen product knowledge and overall value proposition Develop and manage annual territory sales forecasts and expense budgets Apply value-based selling techniques and effective territory management practices Provide customer and market feedback to support new product development and continuous product improvement initiatives Education, Experience & Skills

Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred Minimum of five (5) years of related industry experience Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets Strong technical aptitude in cutting tool applications and metalworking processes Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with strong organizational skills Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Project management experience or capability preferred Travel Requirements

Field-based role requiring travel approximately

4–5 days per week, including some overnight Travel consists primarily of local customer visits with periodic overnight travel Occasional travel required for company meetings, sales conferences, and training events
