We are looking for a
Director of Accounting
to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Director of Accounting to lead corporate accounting operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and oversee financial reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness. This onsite leadership role offers significant visibility to senior executives and the opportunity to shape the future of the accounting function as the organization continues to evolve and scale.
Responsibilities
Lead daily accounting operations, including general ledger oversight, month‑end close, consolidations, and financial reporting.
Manage and develop a team of accounting managers, senior accountants, and staff accountants.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies across all accounting functions.
Oversee AP/AR, fixed assets, cash management, revenue recognition, and multi‑entity accounting.
Direct preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages.
Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary accounting contact for auditors.
Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation across the organization.
Partner with FP&A, operations, and senior leadership to support strategic initiatives and business performance.
Identify process improvement opportunities and lead system enhancements or automation initiatives.
Support technical accounting research, policy implementation, and new accounting standards adoption.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and multi‑entity accounting.
Experience managing accounting teams in a corporate or multi‑division environment.
Proficiency with modern ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
Advanced Excel skills; strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and present to leadership.
