We are seeking a
Content Writer
to help us communicate MAP’s mission and strengthen our digital storytelling across our website, mobile app, and social platforms.
About The Role We’re looking for a creative Content Writer to craft engaging and meaningful content for our website and mobile app. Your words will help communicate our mission, engage our community, and improve the user experience across all digital platforms.
This role is ideal for someone who loves writing with purpose — blending creativity, clarity, and compassion to inform and inspire.
Key Responsibilities
Write, edit, and proofread content for web pages, blogs, and app features
Ensure brand consistency in tone, style, and messaging across digital touchpoints
Research relevant topics and collaborate with design and development teams to align storytelling with user experience
Incorporate SEO best practices to drive visibility, traffic, and engagement
Update and optimize existing content based on analytics and user feedback
Support content for newsletters, digital campaigns, and educational materials as needed
Check and respond to emails daily, ensuring all responses are completed within 48 hours
Take responsibility for performance improvement by analyzing engagement metrics and refining content strategies
Qualifications
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Experience creating content for websites, apps, or digital campaigns
Familiarity with SEO, keyword optimization, and analytics-driven writing
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines
Collaborative approach with attention to brand voice and audience needs
Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field preferred
Commitment
Volunteer position requiring approximately 5–10 hours per week
Minimum 6-month commitment preferred
Remote-first, with opportunities for collaboration in New York City
