ProStart Affiliate Instructor, School of Hospitality
Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for temporary, part‑time affiliate faculty teaching positions in the School of Hospitality.
Position Summary Teaching 3+ credit hours in areas such as ProStart, Culinary, Introduction to Hotel, and Introduction to Event Management. The instructor will interact with diverse student groups, integrate technology into coursework, and provide timely consultation to students online or on campus.

Responsibilities
Teach 3+ credit hours. Subject areas may include, but are not limited to: ProStart, Culinary, Introduction to Hotel, and Introduction to Event Management.
Work and interact with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
Demonstrate the ability to effectively infuse technology into coursework.
Be available for consultation with students.
Prepare course materials and lesson plans, grade student work, and provide timely feedback.
Comply with university wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
Required Qualifications
Completion of a Master’s degree in the field of teaching or a Bachelor’s degree in a hospitality‑related discipline plus substantial professional experience (minimum ten consecutive years with increasing levels of responsibility).
If the Master’s degree is outside the field of teaching, a significant level of professional experience in that discipline is expected.
Preferred Qualifications
Nationally recognized certificates and licenses relevant to the field (e.g., CHSP, CHE, CHRM).
Terms of Employment Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired per credit hour on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program and assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.
Salary for Announcement The final salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a rate determined by university policy. For more information, please view the pay rates under the School of Hospitality: Affiliate‑Rates‑AY‑25‑26.
