About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to provide visionary leadership and strategic direction in advancing the organization's mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, leading strategic planning, managing finances, and ensuring compliance with legal and policy standards. This role requires a minimum of 5-7 years' leadership experience in a member-driven association, strong staff leadership skills, and a proven track record in financial management. The Executive Director will also be the primary liaison to the Executive Board, fostering effective governance and supporting the Association's public policy agenda.
Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include strategic planning and implementation, financial planning and budgeting, and team development. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator, collaborative, and team-oriented, with a strong commitment to the values of the profession. They should be politically skilled, culturally competent, and sensitive to diversity and inclusion. While not mandatory, an advanced degree or relevant certifications, as well as experience in law libraries or related legal settings, are preferred. The role demands a proactive, learning-oriented approach, with the ability to listen, act decisively, and build consensus in complex environments.
