About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Credit Officer (CCO) to take on a pivotal role in leading the credit risk function. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and enforcing credit policy, risk appetite, and portfolio strategies that align with the company's strategic objectives. This senior executive will also oversee all aspects of credit underwriting, loan approval processes, and portfolio monitoring across various segments. A key part of the role is to lead and mentor a team of credit professionals, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and support internal and external audits. The CCO will be a strategic partner with senior leadership on initiatives such as loan growth, M&A, and new product development.
Applicants for the CCO position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' of progressive credit and lending experience, with a strong background in commercial banking. The role requires a candidate with a proven ability to manage diverse loan portfolios and credit teams, a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, risk ratings, and credit policy, and strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills. A Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field is required, with a preference for an MBA or graduate banking education.
