LHH is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor for a contract to hire position in South Charlotte, NC! The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for guiding residential loan files from application through closing. This position focuses on assembling complete, accurate documents and coordinating all parties to ensure timely progress. Success in this role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high‑volume workflow.
Responsibilities
Oversee a sizable pipeline of loans at various stages and prioritize tasks according to deadlines such as closing dates and rate‑lock expirations.
Monitor file progress closely and address any issues early to prevent delays.
Compile and review all borrower documentation to confirm accuracy and completeness.
Prepare files so they meet required documentation standards before they are submitted for underwriting or investor review.
Validate income, asset, credit, and property information to ensure file readiness.
Serve as the main point of contact for loan officers, borrowers, and third‑party partners, including title, appraisal, and insurance providers.
Provide timely updates and ensure all stakeholders understand next steps throughout the loan cycle.
Submit fully prepared files for underwriting review.
Work with borrowers and loan officers to collect documentation required to clear underwriting conditions.
Finalize files for approval and prepare them for the closing stage.
Ensure all documents and processes meet regulatory and investor standards.
Maintain accurate data within the loan origination system.
Meet expectations for file quality, documentation accuracy, and timely submission.
Qualifications
2+ years of mortgage processing or similar experience preferred.
Familiarity with Conventional, FHA, and VA documentation requirements
Experience submitting loans through wholesale investor portals
Ability to manage a high-volume pipeline in a production environment
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle a fast‑paced workload.
Comfortable reviewing income and financial documentation
Clear communication skills and a proactive, detail‑oriented approach.
