What We Are Looking For Yazaki North America, is looking for a Acccount Manager to join our Sales Management Division team in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving new customer acquisition and revenue growth, with a primary focus on global Korean and European OEMs. The candidate wil also be responsible for owning the end-to-end business development process, from strategic target identification through contract award and program nomination.
What You Will Be Doing
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with automotive OEMs, including Hyundai–Kia, BMW, Volkswagen, and other global manufacturers
Develop multi-year OEM account acquisition strategies, aligned to vehicle platforms, model cycles, and sourcing timelines
Lead RFQ/RFI/RFP activities, including technical coordination, pricing strategy development, and commercial submission
Establish and maintain mid-level relationships with OEM purchasing, engineering, quality, and program teams and Act as the primary commercial interface with OEM customers
Navigate complex multi-national customer structures and decision-making processes
Lead commercial negotiations including price, tooling, development cost, long-term agreements, and pricing elements
Support contract reviews and ensure compliance with OEM commercial and legal requirements
Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, program management, finance, purchasing, quality, operations) to support new OEM pursuits
Support continuous improvement and strategic growth initiatives across target OEM accounts
Monitor automotive market trends, OEM sourcing strategies, and competitive dynamics
Provide regular pipeline updates and accurate sales forecasts for senior leadership
Special projects as assigned to support the internal commercial excellence initiatives
What You Will Bring To The Table
Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering or adjacent discipline required
8+ years of automotive sales or business development experience with Global OEMs
Wire harness and power electronic experience preferred
Ability to travel both domestically & internationaly as required
Ability to be on call as needed to support meetings ourside regular hours
