
District Sales Manager (Arizona, Las Vegas, and Southern California)

Summary:
Under the general direction of the Regional Sales Manager, the individual will manage a territory and achieve monthly and annual sales targets, with a focus on supporting OEM customers, installers, integrators, design houses, and cable assemblers with LAPP product solutions. They will also manage relationships and business opportunities with authorized channel partners, providing valued solutions to ensure high customer satisfaction and developing long‑term relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Territory Management: utilize CRM for customer pipeline management and Time and Territory Management for daily, weekly and monthly sales call planning, including using mobility app tools.
Manage channel support of OEM opportunities and project business.
Provide technical support for customer design requirements.
Utilize LAPP resources (Inside Sales, Product Management, Marketing) to maximize support and growth opportunities within the territory, communicate internally for order processing, especially for delivery requirements, and reconfirm with the customer as needed.
Embrace the LAPP Sales Effectiveness Program culture (territory planning, account management, and proven selling skills techniques) as the foundation of territory success.
Coordinate end‑user joint sales call opportunities with territory counterparts.
Connect with OEM representatives, gain relevant account data, and introduce LAPP as a solution for their power and data transmission needs, obtaining requests for test and trial proposals.
Liaise closely with LAPP technical staff or customer engineers to facilitate the design process, ensuring LAPP products are used and called out in design drawings and BoM.
Develop harmonious relationships with nominated subcontractors responsible for installation and the OEM’s purchasing department, aiming to secure contracts for LAPP products and solutions.
Follow up with the installation team before and during installation to ensure they are knowledgeable and all items (cables, glands, connectors) are delivered as requested; troubleshoot gaps in service.
At project conclusion, follow up with OEM representatives to assess satisfaction, obtain written reference letters if possible, and maintain contact for future repeat orders or new installations.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Experience selling Industrial Data cables and/or EPIC connector products with technical understanding of their applications.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4‑year college or university.
Five years of meaningful, related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated working experience selling Cable Assemblies/Harnessing, Industrial Data cables, and/or connector products and their applications.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations None
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts, financial ratios, and business equations; strong analytical skills.
Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledgeable in Lotus Notes and internet software.
Travel Requirements Frequent travel by car or air is expected, including overnight trips to manage the assigned geographic area (3–4 days of travel per week on average). A valid driver’s license and passport are required.
Work Environment Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; noise level is usually moderate.
Physical Demands Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand and walk; occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
