Compensation:

$80,000–$100,000 base salary + bonus

A US based trading company specializing in the import and distribution of chemical products is seeking a Japanese Bilingual Sales Representative to join its U.S. team and support business growth in North America.

This role is responsible for selling chemical products and resin raw materials sourced mainly from overseas manufacturers, particularly Japan. The position involves working closely with US customers, overseas suppliers, and logistics partners to ensure stable supply and smooth operations.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of B2B customer facing experience. Experience in the chemical industry is a plus but not required. Candidates should be eager to learn about chemical products, have a strong interest in the trading business, and be motivated to grow in an international business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Sell chemical products and resin materials to US customers (mainly existing accounts, with some new business development)

Negotiate pricing, quantities, and contract terms for long-term and spot sales

Prepare sales forecasts and coordinate supply and demand with customers

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and manufacturers

Communicate with overseas suppliers in Japan, Europe, North America, and Asia

Negotiate purchase prices and supply conditions such as MOQ and lead time

Coordinate production schedules and shipment timing

Trade & Logistics

Manage import terms such as FOB, CFR, and CIF

Monitor total landed costs, including freight, duties, and customs clearance

Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, International Trade, or a related field

Business-level Japanese language skills (spoken and written)

Experience in sales, trading, or supply chain roles preferred (chemical or materials industry a plus)

Basic knowledge of international trade, logistics, and import/export processes

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Must have a valid driver’s license
