
Assistant Director of Facilities

Insight Global is looking for an Assistant Director of Facility Services to support the Director by managing daily facility operations across all campuses. This role helps ensure buildings and grounds are safe, clean, functional, and well maintained. The Assistant Director supervises staff and vendors, oversees maintenance and custodial services, manages work orders, and assists with projects and improvements that support the college’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day‑to‑day facility operations including maintenance, custodial services, landscaping, mail services, shipping & receiving, and surplus materials
Supervise facility staff and coordinate schedules, assignments, and coverage
Manage preventive maintenance, repairs, and minor renovation projects
Oversee outside contractors for maintenance, housekeeping, and landscaping services
Troubleshoot facility issues related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance
Monitor and manage work orders using the Brightly system
Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA requirements, and college policies
Assist with purchasing supplies, managing inventory, and maintaining service vehicles
Support staff performance evaluations, training, and professional development
Collaborate with campus partners and Building Coordinators to ensure service needs are met
Adjust schedules as needed to meet operational demands, including occasional evenings or weekends
Must haves:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, business administration, architecture, or a related field
3+ years of supervisory or management experience
4+ years of hands‑on experience maintaining or troubleshooting facilities in higher education, government, or similar environments (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building systems, and grounds equipment)
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Experience working with contractors, vendors, and facility management systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office and facility or work‑order software
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to read or interpret construction and engineering drawings
High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
