Bridlewood Golf Club – Assistant Superintendent

TifEagle Bermuda grass greens and 419 Bermuda grass fairways are the turf types at Bridlewood. There isn’t a golf course similar to Bridlewood Golf Club in the entire DFW Metroplex.
The Assistant Superintendent helps the Superintendent manage daily course maintenance, supervision of grounds crew, irrigation repair and maintenance, application of chemicals/fertilizers, helps maintain equipment, manages records, and acts as the Superintendent in their absence. This position requires strong turf knowledge along with hands on experience within the turf industry.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Supervises and participates in maintaining all golf course areas.
Directs, trains, schedules, and manages the maintenance staff.
Implements fertilization, pest control, irrigation, mowing schedules, and scouts for disease and weed pressure.
Oversees repair and maintenance of all golf course equipment on a daily basis.
Maintains accurate chemical/fertilizer records, daily weather, personnel, and budget control.
Sets up the golf course for daily play, tournaments, and or other special events as they arise.
Must have experience in applying chemicals and fertilizers is of high importance.
Understanding of golf rules, etiquette, and course markings.
Ability to perform duties safely and to the highest standard.
Ability to work weekends and holidays as required.
Strong knowledge of turfgrass science, agronomy, and pest/disease control.
Proficiency in operating and maintaining golf course equipment and irrigation systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Acts as the Superintendent in their absence, making decisions and managing operations.
Must have the ability to take written and oral instructions.
