We’re seeking a compassionate, skilled Guest Performing Arts Director to lead our upcoming theater production - guiding the creative process, directing performers, and bringing the show to life! This contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact each day by supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to bring their aspirations of art and theater to life.
This role is about more than directing a show—it’s about creating a supportive, inclusive space where performers can grow in confidence, take creative risks, and feel truly seen and celebrated. You’ll help build skills through rehearsal, encourage teamwork and connection, and guide each participant toward the pride and accomplishment that comes from bringing a performance to life on stage.
This is a contract-based position.
Schedule
Approximately 6 hours per week during the rehearsal period
Up to 9 hours per week during show weeks
Estimated 4-month engagement
Responsibilities
Direct rehearsals and performances
Provide structured creative direction to staff between rehearsal days
Adapt staging and roles to meet varying ability levels
Foster participant confidence, communication, and teamwork
Collaborate with program leadership
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Compensation
$3800 flat project stipend. Paid in 4 equal installments of $950 throughout the project duration
Qualifications
Experience in theater, directing, music, or performing arts
Experience working with individuals with disabilities (preferred)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Passion for inclusion and empowerment
Must be able to pass a drug screen, TB screen, and a Level II background check

Loveland Center Inc is a AHCA-regulated facility. Florida law requires Level 2 background screening for all individuals working at such facilities.
