Our digital practice is looking to hiring a part-time, on-call Content Strategist.

Job Location: This position is remote and can be based from anywhere in the U.S. As an on‑call role, you'll be engaged on a project‑by‑project or task‑by‑task basis; proactive communication about your availability is key to success.
What You Will Do Content Strategy & Governance
Assist account teams in developing and executing web content strategies and governance plans
Make recommendations about content usability and optimization, including improvements to taxonomy, information architecture, and SEO
Apply plain language principles and brand voice guidelines to editorial revisions; collaborate with technical writers, editors, and subject matter experts as needed
Support the creation of content briefs, style guides, and editorial standards documentation
Stay current on content strategy best practices, including content workflows, structured content models, and evolving SEO standards
Web Content Administration & CMS Management
Manage web content in stage and production environments within Drupal and other content management systems
Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure content updates are accurately published across all environments (e.g., development, staging, production)
Apply accessibility best practices to all content, ensuring compliance with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines
Work with accessibility and data analytics teams to monitor content performance and recommend improvements
Support content migrations, content audits, and metadata/taxonomy updates
Project Coordination & Collaboration
Proactively communicate with task leads and project managers about your availability, capacity, and task status
Use Agile frameworks (e.g., Kanban or Scrum) to manage Operations & Maintenance tasks; track and report on content team activities using tools like Jira or similar platforms
Serve as a point of contact for day‑to‑day client content requests by prioritizing, tracking, and reporting on tasks
Collaborate with graphic designers, UX experts, developers, and client stakeholders to support page revisions and the creation of new web content
Assist in preparing and delivering presentations to clients and internal project teams
Contribute to streamlining content management workflows and team processes

Bachelor's degree in a related field
3‑5 years of experience in web content management, content strategy, digital communications, or a closely related role
Professional Skills
Familiarity with a content management system (Drupal, WordPress, SharePoint, or similar); hands‑on experience with Drupal is a plus
Understanding of plain language writing principles, editorial style, and web content best practices
Working knowledge of basic SEO concepts, metadata, and information architecture
Awareness of web accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG 2.1/2.2
Strong written and oral communication skills
