About the Role The Product Manager will guide a team of Product Owners, drive roadmap alignment with institutional priorities and lead cross‑functional decision‑making to ensure scalable, sustainable solutions.
Successful candidates will have work experience in higher education and be driven by the mission of education. This is a contract role.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the university's Salesforce product ecosystem across Student Success, Admissions, and Marketing.
Lead and mentor a team of Product Owners, ensuring alignment, accountability, and delivery excellence.
Own and govern the enterprise product roadmap, driving prioritization decisions aligned with institutional goals and strategic initiatives.
Facilitate cross-functional decision‑making and resolve competing priorities across departments and stakeholders.
Establish and maintain product governance frameworks, including intake, prioritization, release management, and performance tracking.
Champion organizational change management to ensure successful adoption of new features, enhancements, and process improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Generally 3-5 years experience in roles with multiple direct reports while working with executive leadership developing technology roadmaps understanding and advocating for stakeholder needs and holding decision‑making authority for product development
Demonstrated experience in higher education environments with deep understanding of university operations student lifecycle and institutional processes
Experience managing enterprise software platforms and complex technical implementations
Experience with Salesforce Education Cloud Marketing Cloud and/or Service Cloud implementations
Experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing complex multi‑stakeholder initiatives
Demonstrated understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities limitations and best practices
Knowledge of CRM systems data integration and enterprise software ecosystems
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and product management tools
Proven track record of developing and executing successful product strategies
Demonstrated analytical skills with experience using data to drive product decisionsExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non‑technical audiences
Understanding of user experience design principles and user research methodologies
Preferred Skills
Experience with change management and organizational transformation initiatives
Previous experience implementing or managing Salesforce platforms in higher education settings
Knowledge of student information systems learning management systems and other higher education technologies
Pay range Contractor rates begin at $80+/hour
The listed salary range for this position is indicative and subject to adjustment based on the candidate's unique skills and location. Final compensation will be determined through mutual agreement between the successful candidate and SIG.
