Our client is seeking to add a Commercial Lines Account Manager to their team. This individual will be responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of commercial insurance clients, serving as the primary point of contact for day-to-day account needs. The role focuses on client relationship management, renewal strategy, coverage analysis, and collaboration with internal teams and carrier partners to deliver tailored insurance solutions. The Account Manager will proactively review accounts to identify coverage gaps, recommend risk management strategies, and ensure clients maintain comprehensive and cost-effective protection as their businesses evolve. This position plays a key role in supporting retention, strengthening long-term client relationships, and contributing to overall book growth.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary client relationship manager for a book of commercial lines accounts, acting as a trusted advisor to business clients.

Manage the full renewal process, including exposure analysis, coverage review, marketing to carriers, remarketing when necessary, negotiating terms, and preparing renewal proposals.

Partner with producers and internal service teams to deliver high-quality client service and ensure smooth day-to-day account management.

Prepare and present coverage recommendations, renewal summaries, and risk management strategies in a clear and consultative manner.

Provide guidance on commercial coverages including General Liability, Property, Commercial Auto, Umbrella/Excess, Workers’ Compensation, Professional Liability, Cyber, and other specialty lines.

Collaborate with carrier partners to negotiate pricing, secure competitive terms, and resolve underwriting or service issues.

Process endorsements, certificates of insurance, policy changes, audits, and other servicing needs accurately and efficiently.

Support new business initiatives by assisting with proposal preparation, applications, market submissions, and onboarding of new accounts.

Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of client files within the agency management system.

Stay current on market conditions, carrier appetites, coverage trends, and industry developments impacting commercial clients.

Requirements

2 - 5+ years of experience in commercial lines account management within an insurance agency or brokerage environment.

Strong knowledge of commercial property & casualty insurance products and coverage structures.

Experience managing renewals, marketing accounts to carriers, and servicing mid‑market or small commercial accounts.

Ability to review policies for accuracy and identify coverage gaps or risk exposures.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain coverage details and policy language to clients.

Proven ability to manage multiple client relationships, deadlines, and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Active Property & Casualty insurance license required.

Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and client‑focused with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and agency management systems (Applied Epic, AMS360, or similar).
