What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Obtain insurance information from patients and counsel them on financial assistance options
Communicate with physicians and clinical staff to assist with scheduling urgent or referred patient requests
Provide patient scheduling services, including collecting demographics and insurance registration
Call patients with appointment reminders and process internal physician referrals for clinical care
Explain billing processes to patients and assist with basic account maintenance activities
What is Required (Qualifications)
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a related field
No specific certification or professional license required for this position
Ability to perform essential functions of the position satisfactorily
Strong interpersonal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with billing systems, customer service, and Epic EHR
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Familiarity with third-party claims processes
