Senior Technical Designer
As a Senior Technical Designer, you will collaborate with cross functional teams to execute premium medical apparel products from concept through pre‑production stage. Technical Design is responsible for communication with the apparel vendor base, developing garment fit, construction, grading, and maintaining data integrity with the PLM system. Our ideal candidate has a strong skill set in technical design, patternmaking, and a deep understanding of the design and development process. They are creative, passionate about our product, highly organized, and detail oriented. Leadership and relationship building with cross functional and vendor teams is an integral part of this role. You will report directly to our Manager of Technical Design and will collaborate with our Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, Product Integrity, and Raw Materials teams to deliver commercially ready products for our health care community.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain tech pack data integrity including bill of materials, specs, construction, sketches, etc in Centric PLM. to communicate requirements for Design aesthetic, fit, and construction to vendor partners.
Prioritize and execute daily workload in alignment with GTM deliverables & development timelines.
Lead fit sessions & presentations: measure, evaluate fit and construction execution, present style history, advise necessary fit and construction corrections for assigned styles.
Analyze and communicate the outcome of review and fit sessions, artwork reviews, and construction reviews with internal cross functional and external vendor partners.
Manage daily communication with vendor partners.
Finalize buy ready tech packs for each season including sketches, artwork, BOMs, final patterns, and size charts.
Support team in proto changes, challenges, and solutions at GTM meetings.
Manage tracking of prototype samples, strike offs, and testing submits.
Manage seasonal testing processes including wear testing and garment testing.
Lead and develop a team of two technical designers
Work closely with Technical Design leaders on cross functional projects to streamline seasonal development.
Organize and maintain fit block library tools.
Develop and maintain tools to deliver consistent fit and construction across product categories aligning to brand standards.
Execute Design’s vision while ensuring construction is high quality, durable, and production friendly.
Partner with Product Integrity to creatively solve and prevent quality concerns.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience as a Technical Designer at an apparel company
Associates or Bachelors degree in Fashion Design or Technical Design
Expert knowledge of fit, pattern making, grading, garment construction, sewing, and technical drawing
Exceptional eye to identify fit issues and recommend fit solutions for men’s and women’s product while mindful of bulk production constraints and costing
Must have cut and sew woven and knit experience
Able to effectively communicate with international vendors and cross functional teams on a regular basis (written & verbal)
Proficiency in MS office, Excel, Adobe Illustrator and PLM (Centric is a plus)
Experience in 2D or 3D Digital Pattern‑making software (Gerber is a plus)
Experience with plus‑sized lines
Other must haves
Able to work with little supervision
Desire to excel and grow with FIGS

Compensation and Benefits Pay Range
At FIGS, your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. This role's base salary range is between $100,000 and $120,000. Actual base salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
