Job Description
Hire Connections is partnering with a nationally recognized financial institution seeking an experienced
Commercial Banking Operations Specialist
to support a high‑volume Trade Services team. This role is ideal for a banking professional with hands‑on experience in letters of credit, documentary collections, supply chain finance, and trade‑related loan processing.
You’ll manage complex international trade transactions, review documentation for compliance, process payments, and collaborate with domestic and foreign banking partners in a fast‑paced operations environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review and interpret import, export, and standby letters of credit
Examine commercial documents for compliance with UCP and ISBP standards
Resolve discrepancies with customers, beneficiaries, and foreign banks
Process payments under letters of credit and banker’s acceptances
Handle documentary collections (import, export, direct)
Initiate and process trade‑related loan advances
Process supply chain finance transactions
Support loan servicing functions and funding/payment batches
Approve and release transactions for team members as assigned
Maintain proper documentation and audit controls
Respond to customer inquiries related to trade products and financing
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma required
5–8 years of banking or financial services operations experience
Experience with import/export letters of credit
Working knowledge of UCP and ISBP guidelines
Experience with documentary collections and trade‑related loan processing
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with USDA programs (GSM, EXIM)
Knowledge of ICC reimbursement rules
Experience with loan servicing systems
Background in supply chain finance or cash management
Work Environment
Hybrid schedule (primarily remote after onboarding in Denver)
Small, specialized trade services team
High‑volume, deadline‑driven operational setting
Pay Pay: $28-$30/hr
