What you will be doing

Installs, diagnoses, repairs, maintains, troubleshoots, and upgrades all PC hardware/software and related equipment, including occasional troubleshooting of network components such as routers, firewalls, switches, servers, access control systems, wireless access points, UPSs, printers, multifunctional devices, and phone systems.

Interfaces with regional IT management on projects, remote jobsite setups and teardowns, and resolves outstanding issues.

Responds to ITSM-based tickets, performing on‑site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users, and recommends and implements corrective solutions.

Installs, configures, tests, maintains, and troubleshoots user workstations, mobile devices (phones, tablets, etc.), and related hardware/software to meet required service levels.

Collaborates with system engineers to ensure efficient operations of the company’s desktop computing environment.

Maintains an inventory of technology equipment.

Coordinates and liaises with LECs, ISPs, and cabling contractors.

Assists in developing technical and procedural documentation as needed.

Acts as a business liaison to communicate business needs to IT management.

What we are looking for

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.

Related experience preferred.

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), A+ Certification, Network+ Certification preferred.

Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, current technology protocols and procedures, and networking concepts/principles.

Description of Position\nService desk agents support the mission of the department by providing technical support to the college community and by assisting ITS staff with operational and project completion tasks.

This is the first point of contact for students, staff, and faculty in need of technical assistance. Helpdesk Agents provide level one technical support over the phone or via remote desktop. Agents are also responsible for documenting incoming tickets and collaborating on the creation of knowledge base articles. This position is trained and supported by full-time helpdesk staff.

You will be responsible for the care and maintenance of a wide range of computers and peripherals. This includes pcs, macs, printers, and monitors. You will also assist with a wide range of presentation technology, audio-visual, and classroom technology, including projectors and document cameras.

You will perform preventative maintenance in classrooms and computer labs. This includes technology integration and installation projects encompassing physical installation, wiring and project site maintenance and cleanup. You will also assist with receiving and accounting for new equipment, shop care and maintenance, and other duties as assigned.

This position will allow you to gain marketable work experience by working with Yavapai College staff, faculty, and affiliates in a group effort to support the mission, goals, and values of Yavapai College.
