Job Description
Position Summary Responsible for operating sheet metal equipment to fabricate, assemble, install, and repair interior and exterior ship components and shipyard structures within a 63-acre waterfront facility. Work is performed under intermittent supervision and requires strong technical skills, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities Lay out, measure, mark, shape, fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal components using hand and power tools Fasten components using welds, bolts, rivets, solder, caulks, clips, or bonding methods Trim, grind, deburr, smooth, and finish metal surfaces and joints Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve equipment and fabrication issues Perform proper equipment storage and maintenance Assist with ductwork and insulation fabrication and installation Complete miscellaneous tasks outside of craft as assigned Maintain attendance, safety compliance, and adherence to all company policies and EHS standards Perform physically demanding work in outdoor and waterfront environments Physical Requirements
Lift, carry, push, pull, and position materials up to 75 lbs (often team lift) Handle sheet metal, tools, grinders, welders, and fabrication equipment Perform overhead work, kneeling, gripping, pinching, and small-part manipulation Walk, stand, and work in varied positions for extended periods Core Competencies

Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old. Must be a U.S. Person. Must be able to work at heights. Must be able to work in confined and enclosed spaces. Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Must have knowledge of construction materials/methods and basic blueprint reading. Must be a self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Education/Experience
Minimum 1 year experience, 3+ years of experience preferred. Prior shipyard experience. 5+ years of carpentry or related trade experience. Prior shipyard experience a plus. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
