About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its organization during a significant period of renewal and growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and ensuring the organization's fiscal and administrative soundness. This role involves overseeing various functions, including strategy, finance, fundraising, communications, and operational systems, to maintain efficiency and long-term sustainability. The Executive Director will also serve as the primary spokesperson, fostering relationships with staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners, and will be expected to strengthen operational excellence, diversify revenue streams, and guide the organization's expansion efforts.
Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of progressive experience, with at least 5 years' in a senior executive leadership role. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading organizations with large budgets and complex workforces, as well as experience in rebuilding organizational culture and driving fundraising growth. Strong financial acumen, the ability to work closely with a Board of Directors, and a hands-on approach to leadership are essential. While not mandatory, clinical or veterinary knowledge, or a strong familiarity with animal shelter medical operations, is highly desirable. The role requires a leader with an advanced degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience, who can bring a strategic vision and a passion for companion animal welfare to the organization.
