We are seeking an experienced
Construction Superintendent
with expertise in
underground utilities and civil infrastructure projects
to oversee field operations across project sites in the
Los Angeles area . This full-time role focuses on managing daily jobsite activities, supervising crews and subcontractors, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with
wet and dry utility installation, excavation, trenching, grading, and civil infrastructure work . This position requires strong leadership in the field along with a solid understanding of working within
Southern California municipal and regulatory environments .
You will work closely with project managers, field crews, subcontractors, and city agencies to coordinate installation work and maintain efficient jobsite operations across projects in
Los Angeles County .
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily field operations for underground utility and civil infrastructure construction projects
Supervise crews, subcontractors, and equipment to maintain productivity and jobsite efficiency
Coordinate installation of water, sewer, storm drain, fire line, gas, electrical, and dry utilities
Manage excavation, trenching, grading, shoring, compaction, and site restoration activities
Ensure all work complies with construction plans, specifications, and local agency standards
Monitor project schedules, production rates, and jobsite progress
Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety requirements
Coordinate inspections with city, county, and utility agencies
Track quantities, labor productivity, and assist with cost management efforts
Maintain communication with project managers regarding progress, schedule updates, and field challenges
Plan jobsite logistics for projects located in high‑traffic or urban environments
Requirements
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Foreman in underground utilities or civil construction
Strong knowledge of water, sewer, storm drain, and dry utility installation methods
Experience working on public works or municipal infrastructure projects in Southern California
Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, grading plans, and utility profiles
Experience supervising multiple field crews and subcontractors
Strong knowledge of excavation safety practices, trench protection systems, and shoring
Proven ability to maintain project schedules and meet deadlines
OSHA 30 certification preferred
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites across the Los Angeles area
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with Caltrans, LADWP, LA County, or City of Los Angeles construction standards
Knowledge of SWPPP requirements and stormwater compliance practices
Experience with heavy civil construction, street improvements, and infrastructure upgrades
