About This Role: Conceptualizes, designs and develops new product innovations focused in the MedTech, healthcare and drug delivery space. Including system architectures, form development, aesthetics, physical and control interfaces between users, products, and systems compatibility. Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and regulatory design considerations. Contributes to all stages of design and development, from initial research studies, concept generation, 2D and 3D visual communication, prototyping, user research studies, and client presentations and communication.
What You Will Do:
Lead and supports the management and execution of design project activities
Manages design phases, objectives, and deliverables with attention to details and in alignment to project requirements and budgets
Develops client presentations to capture the design and development process
Trains and mentors new and junior designers.
Provides training, guidance, and support to other designers.
Provides constructive feedback on performance of peers to functional management.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or related discipline
3-6 years of relevant work experience
Strong knowledge of human factors, ergonomics, and usability best practices
Good written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong 2D and 3D visual communication & rendering skills
Design research experience is valued
Animation & video editing skills are a plus
Ability to position, present, and clearly communicate the value of design solutions
Excellent problem-solving ability from usability to complex technical problems
Principal Level Required:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related discipline
5-8 years of relevant work experience
In-depth knowledge of human factors, ergonomics, and usability best practices
Experience as Human Factors Lead on multi-team projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong 2D and 3D visual communication & rendering skills
Design research experience is valuedAnimation & video editing skills are a plus
Ability to position, present, and clearly communicate the value of design solutions
Excellent problem-solving ability from usability to complex technical problems
Preferred:
Experience with medical devices
Experience in consulting
