The HVAC Sales & Service Technician is a hybrid role which combines hands‑on technical work with in‑home sales, supporting our mission to deliver sustainable, energy‑efficient solutions to homeowners.
You will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and maintaining high‑efficiency residential HVAC systems while also consulting with customers, assessing their needs, and presenting tailored HVAC solutions. You'll collaborate closely with our sales teams to integrate HVAC into whole‑home energy systems.
This position offers significant growth potential, with opportunities to advance into leadership, training, or strategic roles as we scale our HVAC operations. Experience in team management or growing residential HVAC services is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems in residential properties
Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and efficiency assessments on high‑efficiency HVAC systems
Conduct in‑home consultations to assess HVAC needs and recommend appropriate solutions
Prepare and present HVAC proposals to homeowners with a focus on energy efficiency and comfort
Educate customers on system features, benefits, and available incentives or financing options
Collaborate with solar and energy services teams to deliver integrated home energy solutions
Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and safety standards for all HVAC installations and services
Maintain detailed service records and reports for all HVAC work
Keep detailed records of customer calls and service visits
Maintain professional rapport with customers and be respectful of their homes and property
Communicate professionally with homeowners on the job site and with corporate office staff
Provide excellent customer service and support for high‑efficiency HVAC systems
Contribute to the growth and development of the HVAC division with opportunities to take on leadership and strategic planning responsibilities
Qualifications
EPA Section 608 Certification required
TDLR HVAC certification required
Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and refrigerant systems for high‑efficiency units
Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail for high‑efficiency equipment
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Experience with smart home energy management systems related to high efficiency HVAC is a plus
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Ability to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time
Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout the assigned workday
Must be comfortable with heights and working in hot and cool climates
