Our Executive offices are located in both Downtown Detroit and Troy, MI.

Potential candidates need to be able to commute to both locations.

This will be a Hybrid role.

Position Summary Leggett & Platt Automotive Division is currently seeking a Sr Sales Manager to services key sales accounts with major OEMs and Tier1s managing all commercial tasks and growing future sales for the account. The role maintains and grows customer intimacy, monitors competition, market trends and pricing.

Key Responsibilities

Identifies business opportunities and customers. Drives the organization's sales and new product opportunities and strategic development for the regional market in line with the 5‑year Strategic Plan.

Oversees and manages the professional growth and success of Sales Managers/Account Managers in line with regional objectives.

Formulates sales volumes together with Demand Planners for the respective Customer Unit, ensuring input into the Control Tower and correct price updates in QLM and GFP through Sales Analysts.

Leads quote reviews, ensures all thresholds are respected (EBIT, ROI, CAPEX), identifies areas requiring improvement to meet market prices and prepares customer negotiation strategies based on value proposition.

Manages commodity relations with the respective customer, monitors and improves customer intimacy, keeps competition and market information up-to-date, and ensures thorough competition analysis reports.

Responsible for long‑term customer meeting planning to ensure availability of key functions at the customer and at L&P while ensuring travel cost control.

Liaises with appropriate departments to ensure customer requirements are kept up-to-date and shared with the organization (input specification in QLM for each RFQ). Maintains good employee relations and confidentiality of all information received from the customer/company.

Ensures BPT project training participation at any time to remain up-to-date with the latest release levels, ensuring full application.

Education and Experience

College in Commercial or Engineering or equivalent degree.

Experience

5+ years Sales experience in Automotive, preferably Automotive Interior.

Experience in leading people.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

Strong technical knowledge of product & manufacturing systems.

Knowledge of MS Office.
