Essential Functions and Primary Duties
Provide expert service delivery to an assigned block of more complex middle market real estate insurance clients, with a strong focus on both commercial real estate and habitational (multi-family, apartment, and condo) insurance programs.
Resolve the most challenging and complex customer service issues directly, utilizing deep industry knowledge of real estate and habitational insurance.
Serve as the primary, dedicated resource for assigned accounts, maintaining direct client contact and accountability for the overall and day-to-day service experience.
Build and nurture strong relationships with property owners, managers, and real estate investment stakeholders, acting as their go-to advisor for all insurance service needs.
Represent clients internally, collaborating with underwriting, claims, and risk management teams to implement tailored insurance programs, complete projects, and address ongoing and emerging service needs unique to real estate portfolios.
Effectively elevate client concerns when appropriate, ensuring timely resolution of issues that may impact insurance placement or compliance for habitational and commercial real estate accounts.
Maintain data integrity and quality in all applicable systems and software, with attention to detail for real estate-specific exposures, property schedules, and coverage endorsements.
Lead designated renewal processes for commercial real estate and habitational programs; gather relevant property and claims information, prepare renewal submissions, and present CBIZ solutions designed to address the risks unique to complex property portfolios.
Collaborate with senior staff to create high-quality communication materials, proposals, and stewardship reports tailored to real estate clients.
Establish and preserve solid business rapport with clients and insurance carriers/vendors specializing in commercial property and habitational risk solutions.
Advise clients on applicable legislation, compliance requirements, and market trends affecting commercial real estate and habitational insurance programs.
Identify opportunities for additional lines of coverage or value-added services that address evolving needs of real estate clients, such as loss control, cyber, or environmental liability.
Coach and assist less experienced client services staff, providing expertise and guidance specific to commercial real estate and habitational insurance practices.
*Complexity is based on the degree of uncertainty, financial risk, technical requirements, urgency and volume or size.
Preferred Qualifications
Valid Property & Casualty license
Professional designations (CIC, CRM, ARM, CPCU or similar) strongly preferred
Minimum 3 years’ experience servicing complex commercial real estate and habitational insurance accounts, including multi-property schedules, layered or shared coverage, and multi-state programs
Advanced understanding of insurance products and risk exposures for commercial office, retail, industrial, and multi-family residential properties
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
More than 5 years customer service experience in the insurance industry required
Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
Advanced customer service skills
Proficient use of applicable technology
Ability to work in team environment as well as independently
Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
