About the Role
As Senior Analyst - Natural Gas, you will conduct natural gas research and analysis covering the North American & Latin American markets. In this role, you will support the key service leads and report to the Director of Natural Gas Markets.
About the Team Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS, a Dow Jones company, enables stakeholders in the global chemical industry to improve operational efficiency with deep insights, future outlooks, price discovery and consultation from a celebrated team of subject matter experts. We offer short‑ and long‑term market coverage for more than 200 core building‑block chemicals with a full suite of advisory services and top‑tier events held around the globe.
You Will
Collect and organize natural gas & power generation related statistics and current events
Conduct primary research on the fundamental drivers of the North American gas markets, including basin developments and regional infrastructure additions
Assist in the preparation of models, data sets and analytics for activities covering energy markets
Collaborate with other analysts to develop an understanding of the associated markets, such as NGLs and Latin American gas markets
Support preparation of content, analytical tools, and processes; develop the data aggregation systems in aid of the natural gas services
Support and leverage intra‑company expertise and content to support deliverables
You Have
At least 2 years’ relevant experience
Knowledge of the energy value chain and a proven ability to quickly gain an applied understanding of market dynamics
Experience conducting data analysis and data modelling
Used data visualization and business intelligence applications
Experience using PowerBI, Python, Excel, and PowerPoint
Done process documentation
Experience prompting AI tools to enhance research (a plus)
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, business, data science, or relevant discipline (preferred) – or equivalent work experience
