Job Summary The Director – Growth and Outreach is responsible for developing, managing, and executing strategic outreach initiatives that drive inpatient and outpatient volume growth. This role cultivates and maintains relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS, referral coordinators, and other stakeholders to improve access, awareness, and utilization of hospital services. The Director also collaborates with internal leaders to identify growth opportunities and enhance the provider experience across the care continuum.

Essential Functions

Develops and executes an annual growth and outreach plan aligned with organizational service line goals

Maintains and updates a strategic list of referral sources using CRM to track activity, outcomes, and provider interactions

Conducts regular in-person meetings with physicians, APPs, practice managers, and referral coordinators to identify needs, remove barriers, and build referral relationships

Coordinates introductions between new providers/specialists and targeted referring providers to enhance clinical integration

Communicates timely updates to hospital leadership and SC VP on outreach activity, issues, and growth opportunities

Collaborates with marketing and business development to support initiatives related to physician engagement and service line promotion

Arranges provider participation in CME events, educational forums, and outreach activities

Serves as a market intelligence resource by identifying trends, opportunities, and competitive threats

Supports access optimization by identifying gaps and assisting in the alignment of referral processes and service availability

Ensures compliance with healthcare regulatory standards including HIPAA in all external interactions

Maintains high standards of professionalism and confidentiality when representing the organization

Strong relationship-building, communication, and interpersonal skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software

Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and outreach activities

Knowledge of healthcare services, referral processes, and physician engagement strategies

Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, and independence in executing strategic plans

Qualifications Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field (required)

Licenses/Certifications

Sales training or CRM certification upon hire (preferred)

Experience

Three (3) or more years of healthcare business development, physician relations, or medical/pharmaceutical sales experience (required)

Prior experience with CRM platforms and project management (preferred)
