R13257**Job Location:**Corporate Indianapolis**PRIMARY PURPOSE:**This position plays a role in concept development, creation and flawless execution of executive meetings, corporate events, conferences, and conventions. Primary focus is the development of comprehensive event strategies that reflect the company’s mission, highlight the brand and key initiatives, and deliver the “Simon” experience to attendees. This role is responsible for project management, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of impactful event experiences while fostering and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors. Precision, creativity, and effective communication are essential traits for success in this position.**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:**Collaborate with the Vice President of Corporate Event Management & Board Relations on ideation and strategy to develop and execute comprehensive event strategies that align with Simon brand and company objectives. Manage event logistics for executive meetings, corporate events, and conventions from development to execution. This role will collaborate with key cross functional senior leadership to identify goals and objectives for events and identify new and innovative ways of executing.*The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:** Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, develop strategic event concepts, and execute projects within established timelines and budgets.* Collaborate cross-functionally with various department heads to address convention/event goals.* Work closely with the Brand team on any required event collateral ensuring brand consistency and messaging alignment.* Liaison with SEA and Human Resources on Simon Employee Events* Conduct market research to identify optimal venues, entertainment and or experiences.* Manage vendors, from securing bids, negotiating rates to placing orders and managing inventory upon receipt.* Develop and manage timelines, event overviews, travel manifests, room blocks etc.* Oversee and manage support staff for successful event implementation.* Adhere to budgets and proactively identify opportunities for cost savings when applicable.* Manage event financial ledgers and reconciliations* Document events and feedback in a manner that “tells the event story”.* Monitor feedback and results to continually improve and elevate events.* Responsible for assisting with various administrative support for the department, including managing schedules, coordinating travel, processing invoices, and expense reports.**MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:*** College degree preferred.* 1-3 years previous experience in event coordination, hospitality or shopping center/retail is beneficial.* Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, develop timelines, manage deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced high-profile environment.* Desire to learn and build upon exisitng skill set to build a career at Simon.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, negotiate contracts, and resolve conflicts diplomatically.* Strong ability to efficiently multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.* Independent worker who can take initiative and creates strategic and creative solutions to problems quickly.* Professional team player and hard worker who will do what is needed to ensure the team’s success.* Reputation for bring trusted, collaborative, initiative-taking and resourceful.* Driven and motivated to go the extra mile for results.* Flexibility to work varied schedules and travel as event schedule requires* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint* Exceptional organizational skill, attention to detailSimon is a global leader in retail real estate ownership, management and development and an S&P 100 company (Simon Property Group, NYSE: SPG).
