Position/Salary and Benefits: Deputy Director of Central Payments Center Grade 55: $92,961.90 annually

Job duties: This is a supervisory role and a program liaison between the Office of Judicial Administration and stakeholders within the Kansas court system, including the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and district courts. Work primarily revolves around managing and supporting centralized payment processing and advising on procedures, policies, technology, and legislation affecting this program. There is significant fiscal responsibility with this position.

Responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing the following processes:

District and appellate court receipts, deposits, and disbursements

Overseeing financial policies and procedures and ensuring conformity with procedures relating to district and appellate courts

Troubleshooting financial issues for judicial branch statewide

Work includes performing specialized accounting tasks that follow established GAAP procedures and supervising the Central Payments Center (CPC) case processing teams to enhance financial controls, visibility, and efficiencies statewide. This position will work with the Director of Central Payments to develop and document accounting policies and procedures; oversee training district court employees; and work in unison with Director and CFO to ensure compliance with policies, statutes, orders, and goals for the judicial branch.

Required education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, criminal justice, or related field and at least three years of experience working with financials with the Kansas courts in a managerial capacity. Additional years' experience may be considered in place of the education requirement.

Preferred qualifications: Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
