
Graduate Admission Communications Specialist

USC’s Office of Graduate Admission is seeking a
Graduate Admission Communications Specialist
to join its team. This role will primarily correspond via email with current and prospective graduate applicants, process application fee waivers, assist with credential evaluation and transfer credit processing as needed and conduct transcript audits at the end of the admission cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Communicate with graduate applicants regarding their application status, admission requirements and required documentation.
Review, authorize, and process application fee waiver requests.
Assist with transcript evaluations, GPA calculations and international graduate transfer credit processing.
Conduct transcript audits at the conclusion of the admission cycle.
Provide timely and culturally sensitive responses to applicant inquiries, including applicants from diverse national backgrounds and varying levels of English proficiency (over 50% of applicants are international).
Qualifications and Skills:
Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer‑service orientation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing deadlines.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Comfortable interacting with diverse personalities and professional styles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Strong critical thinking, technical and research skills, including experience working with databases.

The hourly rate for this position is $26.00.
