Position Summary Bishop Ireton High School, a Catholic, co‑educational, college‑preparatory school in the Diocese of Arlington, seeks a faith‑filled and relational Assistant Director of Campus Ministry to join its Campus Ministry team. This position serves as a second assistant director role, complementing the Director of Campus Ministry and fellow ministers, with a strong emphasis on ongoing discipleship, overseeing the school‑wide service formation program, and assisting in the planning and execution of retreats.
Primary Responsibilities On‑Going Student Formation
Coordinate and expand discipleship opportunities such as bible studies, holy hours, and small groups.
Assist in the development and expansion of new student faith initiatives that respond to student interest and spiritual needs.
Assist in the planning and execution of campus retreats.
Coordinate post‑retreat follow‑up and integration.
Collaborate with faculty moderators and student leaders to integrate faith into co‑curricular life.
Sacramental Programming
Assist with the planning and celebration of school‑wide liturgies, reconciliation services, and other sacramental opportunities.
Support preparation for the sacraments (OCIA), including coordination with theology faculty, catechists, and parish partners.
Help encourage and organize student participation in liturgical ministries for daily opportunities.
Service Formation Program
Oversee service hour tracking system.
Assist in running campus ministry service and social outreach initiatives.
Expand Service program to provide regular opportunities for students to serve the community.
Coordinate Sophomore service retreat.
Collaborate with Student Life on the school‑wide Community Service Day.
Collaboration & Community Life
Work closely with the Director of Campus Ministry (Chaplain) and the Campus Ministry Team.
Collaborate with counselors, deans, faculty, Student Life, and administrators in the holistic formation of students.
Maintain a visible and welcoming presence in the school community.
Engage families, as appropriate, in sacramental and faith‑life programming.
Qualifications
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
Bachelor’s degree required (theology, pastoral ministry, religious studies, education, or related field preferred).
Experience working with adolescents in ministry, education, retreat work, or youth programs.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Willingness to work evenings and occasional weekends for retreats and sacramental celebrations.
Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
Preferred Attributes
Experience with student leadership formation or peer ministry.
Familiarity with sacramental preparation at the secondary level.
Knowledge of Catholic adolescent faith formation.
Energetic, pastoral, and collaborative approach to ministry.
Employment Details
