Location/Schedule:
Winston‑Salem, NC; Work is primarily performed 1st shift, Monday‑Friday in office with flexibility to work remotely occasionally. Must be available to work some evenings and weekends as dictated by the demands of the position, including group events. Driving/travel and working outdoor events required.

Visual Designer
plays a critical role in telling that story. Through thoughtful, engaging visual design, this role helps communicate our mission, connect with donors and community partners, and support the programs that serve children and families across North Carolina. This position is part of the Office of Communications and collaborates closely with the Division of External Relations and leaders across the organization. The
Visual Designer
will create compelling digital and print materials that support fundraising, community engagement, program visibility, and internal communications.
Education/Experience
Associate’s degree in Visual Communication, Design, or a related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2+ years’ experience in graphic design. Previous web design and page building preferred.
Prior experience working in nonprofit organizations is preferred.
A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.

Key Responsibilities The
Visual Designer
creates compelling visual content that supports Crossnore’s communications, fundraising, and program engagement efforts.
Design print and digital materials including brochures, flyers, ads, invitations, signage, promotional items, and digital graphics.
Produce visual assets that support marketing campaigns, donor engagement, and community outreach.
Provide design support for internal departments to ensure materials clearly communicate program goals and messaging.
Design internal communications materials such as business cards, stationery, and staff stewardship materials.
Assist the Visual Production Manager with photography and video projects including event coverage, interviews, footage capture, and editing.
Collaborate with communications staff to support website updates and digital storytelling initiatives.
Manage design projects through Crossnore’s project management system to ensure deadlines are met.
Support and maintain Crossnore’s visual brand identity and style guide.
Assist in cataloging and organizing photo and video assets.
Apply accessibility and inclusive design best practices to ensure materials reach diverse audiences.
Maintain professional confidentiality regarding student, personnel, and organizational information.
Stay informed about Crossnore programs and initiatives to support effective storytelling.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of training and qualifications.
Hiring Range $45,000 - $56,000/year
