Job Description Position Summary
The
Account Executive
position develops, sells, services and creates advertising in the publications and products within the sales territory assigned by and under the direction of management. This role involves working closely with clients and internal departments to ensure the smooth execution of advertising campaigns, sales and sales processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicative, and thrives in a fast-paced sales environment. Guaranteed commission first year of employment!

Key Responsibilities
Makes regular, timely outside sales calls on both established and prospective accounts.
Performs required amount of SBOs (sales by objectives) monthly as set by management and submits daily call sheets.
Maintains an updated filing system on active and inactive accounts and uses it daily to ensure contact is made on a regular basis.
Picks up and processes all ads for the publication(s) according to deadline and explicit instructions as to the look and intent of the advertisement, if necessary, design ads.
Proofreads advertising for the publication(s) before it appears in print and online to ensure the final advertisement product meets with the approval of the account. May be required to deliver tear sheets to advertisers.
Computes cost of advertising and takes payment from customer. Completes all paperwork accurately associated with placement and billing of advertising.
Assists accounting in making collection calls on accounts in the 60-90 day for payment as necessary.
Keeps informed of advertising rates, policies and procedures of WNI and adhere to WNI’s credit policy.
Negotiates advertising contracts with customers.
Participates in weekly sales meetings. Represents the company at community events.
Keeps abreast of similar competition and advertising trends in the marketplace and communicates them to management. Brings to the attention of management any problems that occur in sales territory so they may be handled in the best and proper manner.
Education
High school graduate or equivalent. College work in advertising or marketing helpful.
Previous print or advertising sales experience preferred.
Above average ability to work with the public.
