Job Summary As a Nortek DCC Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining long‑term relationships with large‑scale, data center focused companies. This will include identifying, qualifying and penetrating prospective customers, understanding their pain points, educating the market on the Nortek DCC solutions and achieving sales quota by selling solution‑based equipment systems to targeted enterprise accounts.
Job Responsibilities
Identify, qualify and develop lasting relationships with decision makers at strategic accounts. Penetrate the account and build a relationship matrix.
Understand the organization/decision makers, value drivers for award decision, and opportunities size & timing.
Use a top‑down approach to diversify and grow market share within targeted enterprise accounts.
Become a trusted advisor, influencing specifications and system design strategies to achieve basis of design or approved vendor status.
Create, execute, and update a detailed account plan for each strategic account to achieve account goals.
Maintain a constant cadence of in‑person meetings and technical seminars with targeted enterprise accounts.
Develop a deep understanding of the Nortek DCC system and remain current on evolving industry and ESG standards, market direction and new project announcements.
Collaborate with application engineers to educate the market on new technologies and system design strategies.
Attend relevant trade shows, networking within industry organizations to diversify our market presence to win target accounts.
Prospect, qualify and develop new business relationships with targeted enterprise accounts and influencers such as data center specific contractors and engineering firms.
Maintain an accurate and detailed revenue forecast and customer database.
Create and maintain 5‑year revenue growth plan with targeted enterprise accounts.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant technical sales experience.
5+ years of experience and professional growth for the data center equipment market.
Ability to penetrate an enterprise account and manage high, wide, and deep relationships to grow share.
Hunter mentality with a bias for action that has excellent communication and technical presentation skills.
Proven B2B sales success by developing and executing sales plans with accurate forecasting.
A trusted advisor with adequate technical and business knowledge and current relationships within the data center market.
Proven professional success with a strong collaborative and winning mindset.
Ability to travel overnight 50%.
