Junior Estimator
to support our sales and estimating team as we continue to grow.
Position Overview The Junior Estimator supports both the estimating and inside sales functions. This entry-to-mid level role is ideal for someone with construction or building material experience who wants to grow into a Commercial Estimator position.
You will assist with material takeoffs, bids, and customer orders while learning to work with architects, contractors, and homeowners on residential and commercial projects.
This is a fast-paced, team-oriented, in-person role with strong opportunity for advancement.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing material takeoffs and cost estimates for residential and commercial projects
Read and interpret blueprints, building plans, and specifications
Support senior estimators in bid preparation and proposal follow-up
Monitor Plans Exchange and incoming bid opportunities
Answer technical questions regarding products, building codes, and applications
Help ensure compliance with engineering documents and certifications
Take customer orders via phone, email, and in person
Enter orders into production and follow through to completion
Provide product information and pricing to contractors and homeowners
Maintain accurate customer records
Collaborate with production and management teams
Deliver high-level customer service and timely follow-up
Qualifications Required
1+ year of sales or construction-related experience
Strong math skills (especially measurements and basic geometry)
Ability to read construction documents and blueprints
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Valid driver’s license
Reliable and punctual
Preferred
Experience with metal roofing, siding, or building materials
1-3 years estimating experience
Experience working with architects or contractors
Familiarity with QuickBooks, Excel, Outlook, Google Calendar
Experience with takeoff software (Top-View, AutoDesk Design Review, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing (preferred but not required)
Schedule
Full-Time
Monday-Friday
8:00am-4:00pm (Winter)
7:00am-4:00pm (Summer)
Seasonal overtime as needed
In-person position (Missoula, MT)
